Welding a subframe...

....to a 59 apache chassis...

Last week we clipped a '78 camaro subframe with a 59 chevy framerails...

We did the job on location at Bert's place in Heesch...

I will post some pics of the truck's current rideheight soon..I can tell you......it's low!!!!!!

MoonEyes Shop Santa Fe, CA

While cruisin' trough California we had an appointment with the guys behind Moon.

They have a small shop in Santa Fe from where al parts are distributed.

Bob (shop manager) took us on a tour and showed us where they fabricate the famous Moondisks and oiltanks.

In the front you can see an old racecar with the Potvin Blower.

This front-engine mounted supercharger is a real piece of racing-history.

The Mooneyes Dragster won the NHRA Nationals in the 60s and Chico Kodama got himself a Land Speed Record in 2008 with it!

In a small museum you can see all sorts of racing equipement produced or used by the people of Mooneyes.

All in all a place well worth visiting while cruisin' California!!

Cadillac Roof Part 2

This week we got to work a little more on the roof our '63

First we did some taping...

We took grandma's curtains..

And one hour and some House of Kolor later:

Next are a couple of outlines and some clearcoat to finish it off!!

Metal Flake Interior Edsel

Currently we are working on our '59 Edsel Wagon. One of the things to do was the interior... The original was pretty worn and the drivers seat was nothing but springs..the mice ate the rest..

We decided to do something different and contacted our friend Rachel. This is what she came up with:

Lil' Daddy Roth

As were visiting the guys behind the Roth metal flakes, we got to meet Ed Roth Jr. (Dennis) or Lil'Daddy. Big Daddy died in 2001. a big loss for the SoCal kustom car and art world.
One of his most famous creations was the Ratfink.

Dennis had a buch of story's about his father. He was one of five kids Ed had. They must have had a crazy life....
